And so let our travels commence.........
All was well until we arrived at Nairobi airport and when low and behold our bags did not appear from the plane and we still have no idea where they are. We have been assured that they should arrive before we set off on Safari on Sunday but no-one actually knows where they are. We are now clotheless and without any of our must have items such as toothpaste, deodorant, soap etc. After a 12 hours getting here I stank of BO (that's Danny by the way), badly, and have had to purchase a $6 t-shirt from the local store due to the stentch. We have also treated ourself to some deodorant a tooth brush and toothpaste.
Apart from that Nairobi is a little strange and hard to get used to. The people are obviously very poor but seem very friendly enough and we haven't encountered anything scary, yet! Hotel is basic but clean and we're about to venture out onto the mean streets of 'Nairobbery' to get a proper look! Next time we post we hope to be fully equipt with all our gear again and have actually seen and done something! Love Danny and Vikki! More thumbnails ...

You can't say you weren't expecting some kind of disaster after such a hopeful departure!! Don't worry mate, I'm sure these things happen all the time in the neck of the woods you're in. Keep upbeat and see it as part of the adventure!
Hope you're both OK - keep us posted.

Lost Baggage! (reply) Aug 17, 2007 10:53 EST by sijones82
Unbelievable! Can't believe they've misplaced your bags, all on the first day of your travels!
Hope the useless weasels get them back quickly for you; and return everything in them.
Look after yourselves and keep us posted on developments.
Si.
