On our to do list for Bali it was agreed by all that we had to ride elephants. Normally we hire a taxi, but over two weeks into the trip i decided it was finally time to drive on the left side of the road! So we rented a van that would seat all of us and off we went, driving the three hours to get to the elephant park was quite an adventure(scenery and car with an extremely bad tire) in itself hence -Ryan's adventure tours. We finally arrived and got to ride elephants, on the ride Nick drooped his sprite bottle onto the ground so the guide told the elephant to pick it up. The elephant not taking orders to well took this as stomp on it, and completely smashed the bottle. On our ride it also started pouring rain(makes sense in a rain forest) and continued to pour monsoon status as we started our journey home..... It was tough enough driving in practically a river but somewhere along the line we missed our turn and ended up in the mountains. After debating weather or not to turn around or keep going, the song "take me higher" started playing and it was decided. We ended up at Lake Batur the largest lake in Bali and haggled for some cheap lodging(we were the place only guests for the night so it wasn't hard) overlooking the lake.
After drinking all of the bintangs at the place we switched over to Arak attacks(arak is a very cheap liquor that is readily available in Bali, comes in used water bottles), and passed out. The next day we continued the journey and after ending up in a village that probably hasn't' been upgraded in at least a hundred years, we decided to go check out a waterfall called gitgit. The waterfall was cool not as big as the picture had shown but a fun experience non the less.
Until our next adventure- "Ryan's Adventure tours"(theme song from Indiana Jones)
