So more crazy stories from cheap land.

Everyday, I see a hundred things I wanna buy. I normally get about 80 of them.

Needed to get into the business heart of Bangkok, to so some bits and bobs. Now I have been warned on many occasions of getting into the tuk tuks that they drive around here, as I will likely be ripped off and lead astray.

Sounds cool.

After wandering the back alleys with the intention of changing hostel, I met a old tuk tuk driver. He said he would drive me to the city heart for 20baht (like 10p?) If I did a tour with him. Okay. Now what happens is, he drives me to a few select shops(his mates), I stay in there with the intention of buying something, and then he gets a coupon which gives him a free tank of petrol. If I don't buy anything, at least stay in the shop for 10mins before leaving. On one of the stops, I went to a expo centre (sounds like earls court/big exhibition right?). It was a jewelry shop. I hate jewelry. And walked out. He didn't get his petrol. Ha ha. Even though Bangkok is another city, I like it because its honest. The buildings look like there on their last legs, there is smog everywhere, and its all go go go, because to much attention given to one person, means lacking business from someone else?

I have been eating most of my food from little trolly/cart things that are either wheeled around or pitched at the side of the street. The food is costing me 10p for a large dinner. Also been having a lot of fruit blended with ice. Watermelon and pineapple. Yum!! There are loads of these people with the trollies and they are all after my coins. I've spent a lot of time wandering the streets and back alleys just looking at stuff, calculating how much it would be back home and smiling at the beautiful exchange rate. In the evenings, all these people are wheeling around there little carts selling meagre amounts and selling for pitence. There was one woman selling locusts, crickets and other manner of crusty friends. She wasn't getting any business at all. Not surprised. So far, I have just wandered around doing random bits and bobs. Despite them all looking the same, I am just wandering around alley after alley, seeing where everything leads to. It's like being in a multitude of films which I am finally experiencing (i wont name them).

At the corner of my street, there is a massive list of missing posters of victims of last months tsunami. Its pretty grim, but as I predicted, most of the hit areas are up and running again, and demanding for people to go back. The islands of Koh Phi Phi (where 'The Beach' was filmed) look like they weren't even hit. It would seem they have bounced back super quickly.

Went to a Plaza in the city (shopping centre, NOT Princesmead ha ha), to compare the cost of the bigger luxuries in life. Lets just say I know where I am shopping for Xmas. Seriously, I could not believe it.

The rides everywhere in Tuk Tuks, is proving to be a complete favorite of mine. From haggling the cost of the ride, to the whizzing around through traffic. The small talk is pure genius. It goes like: "You England? Very good. Chelsea, frank lampard" Ha ha. I'm sure a few years ago, it would have been Man United and Beckham, but I didn't want to question his loyalties. Another one is : " You want to see a show, ping pong?" (referring to some talented ladies), when I said no, he said "ok, what about lady boy?" Ha ha ha cheeky git. I love the innocence of there humour.

Yeah, loving it so far.
