Ok

So I finally left Sydney. My face has been a beaming ray of sunshine. Don't get me wrong, there are millions of people out there, that would love Sydney and set fire to my hair at the thought of thinking otherwise. I guess since finding OB in CA, I've decided that I like the smaller places. And if you ever need to go to the city, public transport is only minutes and a tender ass away. So the end of my time in Sydney was a little strung out. Work was not coming in fast enough and the money was leaving in quite the opposite fashion. I have been at the Jolly Swagman for 2 months and as everyone that I have met there is moving on, it is my turn also. It was sad leaving, but I know that I'm gonna be dead chuffed in a few days.

So I booked a coach up to Brisbane, with the intention of travelling back down to Sydney from there, albeit VERY slowly and stopping at a few places I have decided would be cool. I know Brisbane is another city, but I have a few things I need to sort out, so it will be helpful, but I don't intend to stay very long. Got the bus from Central Sydney in the evening, said my goodbyes to Kim and was gone. Just like that!!!! It was an overnight bus, and I would (in theory) sleep on the way there.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to sleep on a bus. Unless you have one of those inflatable pillows, its practically impossible. I did have a two seater to myself, but its difficult (as I type this, my back and neck are still killing me)

Anyway, we are pulling into Newcastle (who seem to be missing Newquee brown and Ant & Dec). Anyway the driver takes this corner, which is pretty sharp and drags the side of the bus along some kind of shelter/canopy thingy and the window erupts all over the girl sitting in the seat in front of me. It was safety glass, but that stuff went everywhere....seriously. No-one was hurt.......

But I walked around the corner, looking for a newsagents and where the bus had smacked the side of some building, some kid had been clipped also. Just as I saw him the paramedics were turning up. From what I could decipher amongst the shouting and Chinese whispers, this kid had been drinking and walked into the bus as it had turned the corner. He was claret free, but his knee looked like it needed to go back to its rightful place. Ouch!!!

So after waiting for an hour or so, we get another bus and continue up north.

So Brisbane? From what i can make of it from my brief stay, it goes a bit like this.

It's a city. Another city. The weather is really nice though. The weather is baking here. They said it would be hotter up north, and they weren't kidding. Booked into the Tinbilly hostel for a few days whilst I decided what to do. I've heard that there is a Chinatown here also, so I think I might give it a miss.

What have I been up to? Well sorting out places to go down the coast that fit my description of "alternative' places to go. And I have had to do a few things to my ticket as well. Went for a wander in town. Watched some acrobats doing their stuff in the middle of the street, which was cool. Standing on each other heads and doing handstands. Whatever flicks your switch I guess!! There is also a lot of street artists selling stuff in the street which is pretty cool. Its all good, just wandering around having a look at stuff. Suits me fine.

I know that there is probably a lot to see in Brisbane and its probably better that Sydney (knowing my luck), but I ain't interested in cities anymore.

I think that's it. Going somewhere else next.

Adios
