Bula Everyone

****We interrupt this travel update special to say that my AOL account is being retarded, so I am currently located on Baldtel@hotmail.com. I hope you enjoy the rest of the entry****

Ok Mana Island is the mutts nuts. An Island crafted in Paradise.

This place is like Paradise

The Island is ladened with Palm trees......with coconuts in. Serious!! Its not a really big Island. You can walk around it in about 3 hrs. Most of the island is made up of Mana Island resort. Its a proper holiday resort with an airstrip, attended mainly by the Japanese (who the Fijians on the island don't care for too much) and it's super pricey. Backpackers are not aloud through the resort, so the Japanese pretty much have the majority of the island. The rest is occupied by Fijians living on the Island in their huts and bures. Apart from that, there is the 2 hostels owned by brothers and run by the whole family and are built RIGHT next to each other. Its pretty cool here, there isn't a lot to do, but I'm not too fussed. The beaches are amazing and the water is sooo clear you can see the bottom of the ocean up to about 80 ft (come on....that's impressive). Snorkeling here is awesome and the coral life is excellent. There are sharks in the water, but they don't come in too close. The other day, I was watching all these dogs (there are a lot of dogs on the island - lots of inbreeding), and they are all watching the fish in the water, patiently, before chasing the fish. I was pissing myself.

I've pretty much wandered all over the island, climbing the hills and hanging out with the people in the village. The evening entertainment has been local Fijian music and dances, crab racing, bonfires on the beach with music (by me .....serious). I don't know what it is about this guitar, but EVERYONE wants to buy it. Some guy offered me F$500 for it. That's more than what I paid for it, except now, mine has loads of scratches and dents all over it. Apparently, if they were to get a guitar like mine, it would cost a lot. I was tempted to sell it, but I wrote another really good song the other day, so I'll keep it. Its funny. Everyone wants me to play for them, not like back at home (you bunch of miserable gits). The other night, I was playing to the Germans and they loved them. The Sewer Song and Online Caroline getting applauded, but they REALLY liked 99 (only a few of you have heard it) and My Body's Defect, Ulrike saying that if they were in the shops, she would buy them. Great lyric's she said, and my ego went through the roof. Ha Ha Ha. Damn I love this guitar. Its a woman magnet.

I've also now met a lot of people travelling. It pretty much goes that you repeat your whole story of where you are from, where you have been and where you are going. I've told my story a hundred times already, but its cool getting feedback and advice from other travellers. I started the journey with Scott and Lucy from UK and a girl called Ellie (who I was sharing a room with) who I met all at the pick up point, but also been hanging out with an Israelie couple, Ellenor and Omer, who were both cool as hell and very funny, especially Ellenor. If I ever get to Melbourne, I will be drinking with those guys. Hell yeah!! Its also cool that people get my jokes, meaning I'm not explaining everything and just getting on with being myself.

In a few days I will be doing some island hopping. Its not like what I thought I had signed up too(stay a few nights on 1 island then move onto the next), but more like days trips to these islands. Saying that, I did sign for it, being semi conscious, missing a whole day and being up for 36 hrs. I would have signed for anything. I will also try and get some pictures uploaded, so you can all drool from rainy England.

All for now.
