Going from 103rd to Brooklyn. Took me about 5-6 hrs. i've never walked so far in my life. Seemed like for ever and thats what my feet are saying too. Took some random pictures of the changing architecture as I went further down manhatten. Some crack stuff. Went into "THE" New York Library. Great building, Marble all the way through. had to see it after watching "the day after tomorrow" that WAS a good film.
Somethings never change. i was stopped by some guy in the street wanting me to donate money to a house building cause in botswana or something. They're everywhere. Following me. I thought it was just farnborough, but it looks like they're following ME!! Damn these people playing on my heart strings
Watched loads of people doing face drawings just round the corner from the statue of Lib. Which I didn't bother going to see. I took pictures from afar. it'll do me. Saw the Empire state building, but i didn't go up it and also time square and broadway. I saw the World Trade Centre site as well. That was pretty harsh. They had some buildings which they are still repairing, but the site is MASSIVE. It brings it home. Not the same as looking at it from the telly 100's of miles away. There's loads to see, but I was more interested in seeing how far i could walk before my feet turned into bloody stumps. Brooklyn bridge was amazing and the looking back over the financial district and the rest of manhatten. Its really cool here. I could live here....easily.
Chatted to some guy from the Czech republic who was selling his art. He was cool. talked about england a bit and how he's not selling as much art. I said stick with it. he's likely to sell more in the USA than back in UK.
Saw some more crazy stuff today.
An NYPD MOPED??? HA HA HA. Why the hell would the wanna endorse one of those? I bet he can only chase people downhill.
Also an NYPD 3-wheel tuk tuk/delboy car. That was crazy too (pictures coming soon)
About 30!!!! Police cars burning along 5th Avenue.
Ate at a Maccy D's in the spainish district. Was better than home, but still Maccy D's. its the most homely thing I've had here. Wont bother again.
