Roll Out the Red Carpet

Agra is a dirty, bustling city and after the chilled attitude of the south, it came as quite a shock to me. The touts were pretty full on and you have to be very VERY firm with them, or just flat ignore them.
We didn't do much in the morning as we were trying to sort train tickets, which is an activity in itself. We hit the Taj in the afternoon, and I felt like something of a celeb, the number of people that were asking to take my picture, some were nice family sorts, others just lechy young men. It really is a amazing building, and I am so pleased that I can say I've seen it. In my opinion though, it is more beautiful from a distance, as the whole picture, than when you get close up to the main event. In actual fact its quite a small building, containing ywo tombs which are fenced off, the main beauty is seen from afar.
The others left the taj at 1700ish, as they were pushing on to another town, but I stayed and watched the sunset which was beautiful and did some reading and writing. More thumbnails ...
