We're staying with Verian in Epsom. Today, we plan to go to London. Verian's daughter and her friend were the designated tour guides. It was a Sunday, we decided to attend mass first. Along the way, Verian showed us where she works. Teray works in different town. We arrived in church early. We walked around and took some pictures. After the mass we took the train to London. We had lunch at London's train station. Then we started walking and walking. It seems to be endless. We just let Verian kids guide us while we continue to catch up with our lives without realizing that we were lost. We were in Hyde Park. We're supposed to be in the other side of town. We grabbed our map and took charge.
We wanted to visit the Queen. :-) Unfortunately, the Queen was away so we just roam around the Buckingham Palace and spent our pence in the gift shop. We saw Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, passed by #10 Downing Street where a demonstration was in progress and then crossed the Tower Bridge.
At the train station on the way back, we tried to buy a ticket to Rome but we can only buy ticket from London to Paris. The connection from Paris to Rome was full. Flashback: Our parish priest was helping us to get tickets to attend mass at St. Peter's Basilica with the Pope officiating the mass. We were informed by our parish priest that the Pope will be away the week we planned to go so we have to change our travel date. We decided to buy train ticket when we get to London which was a big mistake. TIP: During peak season, it is best to buy train tickets ahead of time. More thumbnails ...
