Williams Creek pub.. one of my favourite place in Oz... I took a kinda 4wd safari organised tour in Alice.. forgot the name of the safary.. we went in in about a week of time down from Alice to Adelaide.. sleeping in the greatest and hudgest camping ground in the world.. the ouback.. when I say camping it's more you sleep into your swag.. lay on the ground in the middle of nowhere.. with the milkyway and the infinity as roof.. it s so quite... you feel so far away from the real world.. you have no light, no running water, you cook on the fire.. during the night the tempfell to 3degrees cel..at day almost 30d.. thing like that I only ever had in Patagonia, terra del fuego.. nowwhere else..
we stopt then in thsi station williams creek on the oodanata track.. the only servo 500miles away.. like the song.. good to get fresh beer.. a counter meal.. a shower.. talking to some crazy locals who have has job.. taking care of the fox proof fence or who have to hunt the pests.. cats.. rabbits, foxes and then hang them up on one of the only tree.. around.. they gave a dingo as pet dog.. you feel like back in the early settlers time.. you meet some aussies on bike trip or 4wd trip.. on those mythic tracks.. streleztky track.. oodanata.. or on the way to bridsville..
I saw the lake Eyre.. the old ghan railway.. some farmers.. that the great real outback I ve ever dreamt about.. and you can say that on this trip the journey is more important that the destination Adelaide.. when I finaly get to the hostel there.. i was full of dust.. unshaved.. with a bushman hat.. and you see all those metro and fashion victims looking at ya strangely.. but who look strange me or the city sider.. I staid 2 days in adelaide.. then flew back to brissi to get back to skool.. but i have to tell you i needed 2 weeks to get back to big city life.. evrything was so stressy, noisy, polluted.. everybody unhappy.. to serious.. looking so depress in the suburb train.. nobody great eachother.. you bever have a talk to a stranger.. i m bush adicted now.. and more australian than many australians who have bever been outside melbourne or sydney..
get outback mate
