Darwin... i ve been there 4 times i reckon.. always had fun there.. you have such funny locals and lunatics there.. plus some old hippies and what we call artisano in LATAM... great people.. some redneck are you goign to find there as well, backpackers.. party people, retirees.. japanese.. families.. a melting pot of almost all you can fin in Oz except the trendie metro city boy and the girl paris hilton like who s hanging with those guys..
this is a great hang out in the winter season.. in the dry but much quiter in the wet.. and interesting too if you don t like the crowds..
the highlight s are for me the market, the beach and his bali like sunset.. next to the casino.. there are some other beach further out... but was to lazy to get there..
the marina, the center, and the coast are alright...
but one thing i d like to do one is the trip to the island out there.. bloody expensive but apparently worth the trip tp those aboriginal communities..
other wise like most travellers Darwin is a start or a an end for all great outback trips to QLD, WA, Alice Kakadu etc.. a great start to land in Australia from Europe too.. direct into the wild into Crocodile Dundee country without starting in Sydney.. like most people..
on the other end a great place to end your trip and leave the country after watching your last sunset.. what i did.. and then go to bali.. cheaper from Darwin.. 3 hours flight if i remember well.. and a Qantas flight.. no worries with surfboards and over charging because of weight not like with this bloody Jetstar not surfer friendly..
