Day 32 - 12th July 2007

Carly goes for an early morning swim while I decide to take a break from swimming and just sit by the pool and read my book for a while. We get back and Andrea is not looking pleased. Her flight to Brazil was cancelled the day before due to a freak snow storm in Buenos Aires, the first snow there for 89 years, so Dre has been getting her stuff ready all morning.

We walk into her front room where she tells us not to sit down on anything which leaves us both slightly confused. It is then that Kai, already not our favourite person in the world pipes up with news from home. Apparenty there is a good chance he may have scabies. Great. We are unsure as to what this is so he goes on to explain that he has a rash on his leg (one we had noticed from the day he arrived but didn't like to say anything), that is more than likely caused by mites burrowing in his skin.

He then goes on to explain that it is highly contagious and anything that he has touched/sat on etc is probably infected by the scabies and that they can then be passed on to everyone who comes into contact with it. More great news. Anyway, Dre leaves the house as she can't think straight with her plane about to leave in 3 hours! We delve some more and find out the girl back home is someone he has slept with "two or three times". We then find out that the rash is also on his bits which leads us to wonder why the hell he failed to mention this for the last week.

We also decide to head out as we cannot bear to be in the scaby infested household any longer. We meet Dre on our way out who has spoken to one of her friends who is a nurse who thinks the rash is more likely to be some other infection so not to worry. We feel slighly happier about our own predicament but we are still none too pleased with the lying Dutchman. Dre leaves him to think about his actions for an hour before giving him the news.

We head into town and find an English shop selling all sorts of treats from home at rather inflated prices so we give them a miss. We have a cherry pip competition at which Carly again reigns as champion. We get back to the flat and pack our stuff up as Dre's sister is taking us to King of Prussia that evening to meet Steph who we will be staying with for the next week whilst we are working her camp.
