What I did
The ruins at Ephesus
As I was waiting for Keith to climb up the Grand theatre, I heard trumpets blowing, and on marched the players for a little performance. There was the Emperor, his queen, 2 trumpeters, 2 gladiators, and 6 or so dancers, they did a 5 min skit
Getting off the ship was by tender, as there is no wharf at Patmos. Our guide was keen to tell us the story of John on Patmos, he added lots of bits that from the Greek Orthodox church. We saw the cave where John is said to have received the visions that are Revelation.
We saw windmills there too, and walked through the town with it's labyrinth of small streets - apparently to confuse pirates!
I enjoyed Patmos more than Ephesus, but it was a great day. Very tired when we got back and went up to the 'Sky bar' to have our juices (we have a package with 2 juice, 2 bottles of water, 2 tea or coffee - also 2 alchoholic drinks) . The Sky bar is 12 stories up and is a bit like the top of the Sky Tower. We went up there each evenings we were leaving port as the view was great, and not many people went up there. They all used the pool area- hoards of them shoulder to shoulder on deck chairs.
