Drove along the coastal route through Hayle and took a photo for Becs!
Then on to St Ives, we parked at the top of the town and walked down, along with hoards of others.Next thing we noticed along the way was a sign for 'Levant mine and beam engine', so went to have a look at that, luckily it was a National Trust property so didn't cost us anything. The men were fascinated and spent ages talking engines with the chap. We were amazed to know that the mine had gone 2000ft down and a mile out under the sea.
On then to Lands End which is very commercial and cost £5 to park and go in
On the way to Penzance we saw a sign for some standing stones right by the road and stopped for a look. Drove through Penzance after a stop in a carpark and a look at the harbour. These harbours are all so different but have harbour walls and this was hightide so the boats were floating for a change. We had a look over at St Michaels Mount, but it was hightide so the causeway was covered. More narrow lanes, and back to Newquay. Went to a flash restaurant for Keith's birthday dinner. When we booked our landlady had told us to say it was his birthday, so they decorated the table and he had a sparkler in his dessert!
