Woke up as usual (most people do)... Had some breakfast...something I haven't quite understood...they leave the bread out, or cook it until it is hard... like we leave out for stuffing or for croutons...and then you eat it with butter and jam, dipped in coffee... good, but different.
Today we were planning on going to La Boca and San Telmo (antique fair in San Telmo...mom would've loved it)...Walked through San Telmo on the way to La Boca... On the way to La Boca everything was kind of sketchy..all the stores were closed (Sunday) and people were rowdy cuz there was a soccer game
Awesome... we got out to some drums (see video) and colors everywhere. It was also very windy. Like it says in the guidebooks and I have seen in pictures, it is a mish-mosh of colored houses, made of tin and wood, painted with whatever is leftover. It also is home to tango, and to bohemian art, as well as numerous cafes.
After La Boca we cuaght our first bus (cheated a bit by asking the waitress at the cfae which bus took us to Plaza de Mayo). Was uneventful. Got off band-aided up my poor feet (4 band-aids and counting). And walked back to the hostel. We hung out for a bit. Then went to the supermarket, and got some drinkable yogurt, like yop, but a lot, same as I had in China (brit's first). We also bought some fresh noodles (noquis) and some Stella (yum....for a buck). We came back, and made a delicious stirfry seasoned with salt, curry, and pepper. Yum yum yum. Then drank some beer and played yahtzee ( I didn't even have to twist brit's arm)now I am here pleasing my friends and family..hehehe love you guys!
