The only thing to fear about traveling to Bali is fear itself. Bali is so full of colourfull cultural riches and people. You cant help to smile asa smile awaits you around every corner. Ya, so there are some amazing things to see and do. You can hangout on the beautiful beaches and catch some rays, get a massage, grab some local food and a bear. You can dive in and around a WW2 shipwreck with sharks. You can marvel at the amazing craftsmanship of local artesian and shop and haggle till you drop. Take a walk on the wild side with the monkeys fascinating temples. OR have a local shake and dive out over the ocean into a pool at the end of a 45 meter bungee cord while on lookers dance to groovy tunes at the club down below. Get a massage, heck get two and the pick up you custom tailored clothing. OH YA! don't forget about the endless possible surf spots
. I surfed every day and every time i closed my eyes i could watch the sets roll in. Watch out for all the elaborate and colourfull offerings everywhere. The list goes on. Whatever you want just ask for it! Remember the TV series Fantasy Island? Had to be Bali. BUT! What really makes Bali special is the people you will meet there. it helped allot to have 3 of my closest friends to share all this with. I haven't had so much fun playing in the pool in the garden of our villa since i was kid. Kevin and Shelley over the past 20 yrs. have never heard me giggle so much. It even comes with a dog and singing birds. Damn i hope Roger enjoys his place as much as we did. The there was Anja man from Sumatra. I met and partied with this guy 6 yrs. ago in Thailand. Then there where the 4 wacky Americans i met and instantly connected with. Thanks Jim, Bob, John and Malika for all the great times. I cant wait for the next episode of survivor. Then add all the locals that truly open there hearts and souls to you, and BAM! You have Bali. One day as i sat and ate at our local little haunt on the beach. The lady who we call Mama. Out of the blue came up and gave me the biggest hug. I'll never forget her smile, family and ice tea. Mr. Dipper the manager at the family run Satriya Cottages just down the beach from poppies 2 spent a week hunting down a traditional puppet show. We had mentioned we would like to see one. So he took it on personally to find one. Took time out of his Fri. night and drove us personally one hour out of the way so that we could see the show. WOW! The list goes on yet again. Bali is truly a magical place. Where the people, the landscape, mixed with the Hindu culture will never siese to amaze. So if you are fearful about traveling to Bali. The only thing you should fear, is the missed opportunity in life to share this amazing place. This is Bob Farley reporting from survivor Bali.
