O.K. Well it has been a month to the day that I left home on Christmas Day for Japan. This time my mother and step father drove me to the airport. My mother was strong for a short while but then decided she had to get home. Big hugs some tears. She doesn't like it when I leave on any excursion and just wishes I would get home sooner than later.

As I found out I waited much to long in the wrong line up. I headed off to the right check in point. Did i mention i've decided to travel without a watch. My good friend Erin showed up to give me a warm send off and wish me good luck and happiness wherever I may find it. Thanks Erin! I made it to my gate in plenty of time to check out all the pasty white Canadians off to Mexico for the holidays.

So I was off! Air Jazz took me to my first destination L.A.X. As our little plane came in for landing like the pilot was an old fighter jet pilot. Hey! There goes the Hollywood sign and possibly someone's breakfast. I took in the sights of Hollywood from the air. Brown, dry and concrete. Hmph! doesn't look that spectacular. I depart the plane and the terminal to start my navigation of L.A.X and find my connecting flight. The air is hot and the breeze is warm. Oh it feels good after riding my bike to work at negative forty degrees Celsius.

Off I go! It's about a good ten blocks to international departures and Singapore airlines. Oh! Singapore airlines. Thanks to my buddy Chris in Vancouver this will be the airline I spend the next 12 hours on. The hot meals and towels are fantastic. Pick your own movies, video games, brain teasers and current news from the screen in front of you. Only if that newlywed couple in front of us would stop bouncing around. The young guy from Colorado next to me at about six foot three and two hundred pounds wasn't having as an enjoyable trip. All in all the flight was painless.

Surprise! I reach Japan, clear customs and collect my baggage easy enough. Even know the little Japanese lady that found my skateboard bag thought it was a little heavy. Now!The plan is to hop a 1 hour train to into Tokyo, navigate the bus and train depot and catch an overnight bus to the city of Hiroshima.Easy right! With my little knowledge of the Japanese language I am determined to find the train I need so I don't miss my connecting bus.

BUT SURPRISE! This attractive blonde, green eyed girl is waiting for me outside the terminal doors. After making the Japanese quite uncomfortable with two North Americans who haven't seen each other in four months we set off for Tokyo. Hessen (For those who don't know. This girl is the whole reason i have decide to revisit Japan) has arranged a place to stay and has been lying to me over emails about her whereabouts. I hadn't expected to see her for another 12 hours or so. Or maybe i had! We catch up about all that has happened since we've last seen each other over sushi and beers. The sushimi melts in your mouth as it should. The Japanese business men are in fine form falling on their faces and laughing the whole time. What a great night!
