Day 3: A Farewell Barbecue

Today Jessica, Samantha and I got up early, got dressed, and went down to the kitchen to have breakfast. Grandma and Grandpa had gone out early to get fresh donuts so we all ate and then decided to go out front to take pictures. Jess, Sam and I sat on Aunt Debbie's car and then posed for pictures in front of the house.
Done with taking pictures, we went back upstairs and tried to wake Carianne and Ryan up. Carianne was asleep in a bed in the loft and Ryan was asleep in his sleeping bag on the living room floor. We kept trying to roll his sleeping bag over and when we finally succeeded we couldn't stop laughing! Ryan didn't know what hit him. We then took more pictures in the living room, including a picture of Ryan pretending to sleep standing up in his sleeping bag.
Cari and Ryan eventually got up and dressed, and we all watched a summer music countdown and a Destiny's Child special on the Family Channel before watching "The Best of the Real World" on MTV. Samantha had forgotten to get a few things at Target the day before so she, Grandma, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Pete all drove over to Walmart to do some shopping. No one else wanted to go, though, so Ryan went downstairs while Cari, Jess and I watched more TV in the upstairs living room.
When everyone got back from Walmart we wanted to go back to the beach but it was too chilly out so we instead decided to go to the movies. Cari and I had seen Pearl Harbor twice within the past two weeks and absolutely loved it both times so we wanted to see it again! No one else wanted to see it, though, since they had all seen it already, so we decided to see "Evolution." It was funny but really stupid.
When we got back to the house, Uncle Pete drove Jess, Sam, Cari and I back to the beach. It was cold so we only put our feet in the water. Jessica and Samantha climbed up the dunes again and we took a bunch of pictures in the water.
We were back at the house by 6:30 and we all had a barbecue in the front yard. First Grandma put out chips, pretzels, cheese doodles, cheese, pepperoni and crackers, and we all hung out. Jessica, Samantha, Carianne, Ryan and I played horseshoes in the front yard, relaxed in the hammock, and listened to the "2Gether" soundtrack on Jess and Sam's boom box. Jessica and Samantha also spent some time dancing like crazy in the lawn, seeing how many people who drove by would look and laugh!
We then had hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner and just relaxed in the front yard. Before we knew it, it was 9:00 and time to headback home. I was done with school since I had graduated from junior high a few days before, but Carianne and Ryan had school the next day and Aunt Debbie (who's a teacher) had to go to work. We took a few last pictures, hugged Jess, Sam and Uncle Pete goodbye (we would see Grandma and Grandpa at home) and were on our way. Jessica and Samantha were going to stay another night and leave early the next morning. Grandma and Grandpa were planning on staying for the rest of the week.
While my trip was only a short weekend, I had a great time! The few short days I spent with my cousins on Long Island renewed my love for our vacation home and began a string of frequent trips out to the area!
