Day 2: Shopping and Six Hours at the Beach

We were all up bright and early this morning. We had wanted to go to the beach but it was pretty chilly out and it was supposed to rain so we decided to go shopping instead. Cari, Jess, Sam and I got the phone book and I called Target, Walmart and K-Mart to see what time each of them opened, and then we went downstairs for breakfast. We had cereal and I wound up finding a small submarine toy from the Disney film, "Journey to Atlantis" in the cereal box.
An hour later Aunt Debbie, Grandma, Cari, Jess, Sam and I all drove over to Target. We spent a good two hours in there just walking around and shopping. We all tried on a lot of stuff and each of us wound up spending a lot more money than we probably should have. We got a lot of nice things, though, and had a great time walking around.
When we got back to the house, Uncle Ted and Ryan had arrived and were watching TV downstairs. Jessica and I decided to shave with the new pink Venus razors we had just bought. Usually shaving isn't an event, but oh, this time it was. We kept singing, "I'm your Venus, I'm your fire, of your desire!" by Bananarama from the commercial and saying we felt like goddesses. We just spent a good twenty minutes cracking each other up!
We then decided to take a walk down to the beach. We were only going to stay for an hour or two at the most, but we wound up staying down there for six hours! We lounged around and tanned, waded in the water, tried to catch fish and crabs, and searched for pretty seashells. Cari, Ryan, Jess and Sam also climbed the dunes on the side of the beach and had fun running down them a few times.
When we got back to the house, Cari, Ryan, Jess and Sam fought over who would take showers first, while I hung out in the upstairs living room and watched TV. Uncle Ted and Uncle Pete then drove over to Taco Bell to get dinner. They got both soft and hard tacos, burrito's, Mexican pizza and nachos. The food was good and we ate it outside in the front lawn while Uncle Pete, Jessica and Samantha told us crazy yet hysterical stories about their neighbors. Since we hadn't been able to sneak up snacks the night before we decided to do it now. Every few minutes Jessica would get up from the table, go into the downstairs kitchen to get some snacks, and then she would run upstairs to stuff them into the case that held her sleeping bag. She did it three times! In all reality we didn't have to sneak snacks up, no one cared if we ate them, but it was more fun thinking we were being sneaky. We dubbed the bag of snacks our "Sneaky Snack Bag".
That night Cari, Ryan, Jess, Sam and I all hung out upstairs. We all had a pillow fight and took a ton of funny pictures. We also listened to CDs and danced around to Jennifer Lopez, the "2Gether" soundtrack and the soundtrack to "Now and Then". Then Cari and Jess went outside to lay on the hammock while Ryan, Samantha and I watched a record-breaking episode of "South Park" in which they said "shit" 160 times. Classy!
Cari and Jessica came back up an hour later and we all laid in bed and watched fifteen minutes of Mad TV. Soon after turning off the TV Jessica, Samantha and I fell asleep in the pull-out bed, Ryan fell asleep on the floor, and Cari went upstairs to sleep in one of the beds out in the loft.
