Day 11: The Storm's A-Comin'

01 - Hanging Out in the House

I woke up at 10:00 this morning but I fell back asleep until 11:30.  I got up and went inside to have breakfast and mom and dad were again sitting out by the pool.  I took the laptop and sat at the kitchen table to have a Lender's everything bagel for breakfast with some orange juice.  I had trouble connecting to the internet at the kitchen table so I didn't bother with it.  We had been latching on to someone else's WIFI the whole time so I couldn't complain!  I was done eating breakfast by 11:45, and Mike was already up and dressed which is pretty early for him.  It's really early for him, actually.  I sat on the couch in the living room and checked my mail on the laptop while I watched "Lilo and Stitch" on the Disney Channel.  I then took a shower at 12:15 and I watched the "VH1 Top 20 Countdown" as I got ready in my room.  I was done getting ready by 1:30 and mom and dad had gone out to go shopping.  They wound up going to Publix for some more food for the house, and to a few other smaller stores.  I spent the time watching TV in my room and reading my psych book.

02 - Hanging Out in the House

Mom and dad were back by 2:30 and we all hung out in the living room.  I went online for a little while and checked my mail and my Myspace.  The internet connection was really slow, though, and I was getting annoyed so I got off and read more of my book.  At 4:00 we got ready to leave.  The plan was to go to Islands of Adventure to go on the water rides.  We all had our comfortable clothes and flip flops on since we were planning on getting drenched.  We headed out for an early dinner at Shoney's, and on the way Mike said that he wasn't feeling well and that his stomach was bothering him.  We didn't want him to not feel well at the parks so we decided not to go to Islands of Adventure.  We wanted to go on the rides but we still had time.   We drove over to Shoney's and parked and went inside.  It said that the lobby of the neighboring hotel was in the same building, and when we walked in everything was empty and boarded up.  At first we thought it was the Shoney's that was closed but it was the hotel lobby.  We looked next door and found the entrance to Shoney's.

04 - Hanging Out in the House

We got some brochures for local attractions that they had out before we were seated.  The chairs were kind of dirty but we brushed them off and looked over the menu.  The restaurant was empty except for two other tables but the buffet looked very clean.  There was a woman behind the buffet always cleaning and replenishing everything so it looked good.  We ordered our food and mom's, dad's and mine came with the buffet.  Mom, dad and I went up to the buffet and got some stuff to eat.  I got salad with honey mustard dressing, mashed potatoes, a corn muffin, a roll and a fried shrimp.  Yes, one fried shrimp.  It was all really good!  By the time I was done eating I was really full and not even in the mood for my food, but our food arrived five minutes later.  Mom and dad both got chicken fingers, I got the fish and chips, and Mike got a chicken Caesar salad.  The food was good but I was really full and didn't even eat mine.  Honestly, I didn't really like mine but it wasn't bad.  I just wasn't in the mood for it.  We got a few more brochures for a few different attractions and stores in Orlando before we left.  We had wanted to stop at a huge flea market nearby with 450 booths but it closed at 6:30.  We then saw a brochure for another flea market with 400 booths that didn't close until 8:00 so we were going to head over there, but Mike's stomach was bothering him so we drove back to the house.  I was going to go back out to the flea market with mom and dad, but I wasn't feeling well either so they went on their own.

05 - Hanging Out in the House

Aunt Stacy called soon after and I spoke to her for ten minutes.  Alison got on the phone and I told her that we saw ET yesterday and he knew that she loves him so he gave us a present to give to her.  She was so excited about her new shirt!  Aunt Stacy called back a few more times within the next half hour to talk to Mike about a video game she was looking to get Alison.  I went to sit outside with Oreo but a huge storm was making its way towards us.  The lake had huge waves in it, it was the weirdest thing!  I went out to take some pictures and video and the lightening was crazy and the thunder was ridiculously loud.  Mike brought the chairs under the covered area of the backyard so they wouldn't be drenched and gross the next day, and we stood outside for a few minutes before it got really cold and cloudy and we went back in.  I spent the next half hour reading my psych book, and then I watched the special "Making Of" featurette on the "Tristan and Isolde" DVD.  I love that movie, the entire story in itself is amazing.  I really wanted the book and I had ordered it a week before we left Orlando so that I would get it right after we got home.  We would see what happened.

12 - Hanging Out in the House

Mom and dad got back to the house at 8:00.  Mom had bought a lot of nice things, including two small rings for me.  She also got me two t-shirts to wear as pajamas.  One says "Orlando" and has a palm tree, Cinderella's Castle and Spaceship Earth, and one says, "I'm not a bitch, I'm THE bitch, and that's Ms. Bitch to you."  Haha!  She got my cousin Cari a really funny shirt that has the same picture of a bored looking cat above ten different moods.  Cari loves cats and the look on the cat's face was perfect for her!  She'll love it.  At 8:00 I began working on my trip report in my room while I watched the new "Star Tomorrow" show on NBC.  It was a talent show looking for a new band and it was great.  When it was over at 9:00, mom, Mike and I played a game of California Rummy.  When we got to the eighth of ten rounds I was winning, but we realized that mom had kept score wrong and somehow had a score for a round we hadn't played yet.  We didn't want to start again so we just stopped playing and I went to my room.

13 - Hanging Out in the House

I worked on my trip report in my room and watched the end of "Treasure Hunters" on NBC.  I had never watched it before so I didn't pay attention.  I then watched "Medium" which I again never watch but I got into the story and had to see what happened.  It was really scary and it freaked me out!  It was a good show, though.  I then read my psych book in bed for an hour before I fell asleep at midnight.  It had been a relaxing day.
