Day 27: Our Final Day in Orlando

We were all up and ready by 9:00 this morning, which was definitely early for Mike and I. One of our favorite things to do when we go on vacation is to all go out for breakfast and in the past four weeks we had only gone for breakfast twice. Mom and dad had gone out for breakfast more than that, but it was always without us since we slept late pretty much every day. We drove over to Denny's at 10:00 and were seated right away. I guess a lot of people go for breakfast earlier to get to the parks at opening. There were a few lingering people in there, though. We ordered and I don't remember what anyone else had but I had french toast, a biscuit, bacon, eggs and sausage. We had to end our "eating like pigs" theme with a bang. The food was all really good! As we were eating mom said that I should have made reservations for a nice breakfast at a Disney resort on our last day. Now she tells me! I originally had planned for us to eat at Chef Mickey's, but our priority seating was for the next day since we were originally supposed to leave a day later than we were now. I wasn't able to get a priority seating, though, and I didn't bother pushing the issue after all the money we had already spent of food.
We then headed back to the house and hung out. I really didn't want to pack yet. I'm not used to packing when we're actually on vacation. Usually we only go away for a few days and I leave my stuff in my suitcase, or I take a few things out and put them in drawers. Now every single thing that I had brought to use for the month was out and thrown around the house, and I didn't feel like going through it all. The only thing worse than packing to leave for vacation is packing to come back home. Mom, dad, and I went out to walk Oreo later in the morning, and there were two huge Cranes outside! The only birds we have in the city are really small so it was really cool. And they weren't afraid of people at all, they got really close to us. Mom was afraid that they would start running after us to attack Oreo, so she pulled Oreo up, grabbed her and ran! It was the funniest thing ever. Dad and I took a few pictures and watched as the Crane's just walked around and crossed the street to go over to where the pool was. They were so pretty.
We hung out around the condo for a little longer before I mentioned that I wanted to head back over to Downtown Disney. After coming down to Florida with $800, I had about $150 left and I couldn't just let it sit in my wallet. Mike didn't want to go (what a shock) so mom, dad, and I went. We were on Disney property in no time and I was so glad to be back, even if I knew it would only be for a short amount of time. We drove over to the Marketplace and parked. It was really empty so there was no problem finding a spot. We weren't sure where the Arribas Bros. store was, but as soon as we walked in we found it. We went inside and looked at all of the crystals. Mom collects crystal figurines, but she decided not to get any. They're really, really expensive and she didn't want anything to break on the way home. We looked to see if they had a scorpion for Mike but they didn't. We asked the glassblower and he said he could have it done by the next day, but by then it would be too late so we headed out.
We went next door to the World of Disney and I spent twenty minutes looking around. I wanted to get another music box but they didn't have any I wanted. I really, really wanted to buy a few more things. Leaving someplace you love is always a little easier when you have a ton of souvenirs to take home, but I couldn't find anything worth spending my money on! We eventually left without having bought anything. There was some traffic leaving the area, right across from Typhoon Lagoon, but within fifteen minutes we were leaving Disney for the last time this trip, and I remembered to take a picture of the "See You Real Soon!" sign. We got back to the condo and were greeted by some more lizards. We then all just hung out again. Time was running out to pack, and I really had a lot to do, but I didn't care. Packing meant that the vacation was over, and it wasn't over until I said it was over!
At 5:00 we headed off for our last dinner in Orlando, which of course had to be at Cracker Barrel. Our favorite waitress wasn't there but the waitress this time was good, too. We had our traditional delicious biscuits, and then ordered our "usual's." Mike and I got chicken fingers with apple sauce, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw with honey mustard to dip the chicken fingers in, dad got chicken fried steak and mom got a salad. The food was delicious, as always. I wish we had a Cracker Barrel around here.
When we were done eating we looked around the store for a while. That's when I found their huge collection of Burt's Bees stuff. I LOVE Burt's Bees! For those of you who don't know, it's a line of all-natural body care products made from different fruits and vegetables, and bees wax. It all smells amazing and works really, really well. I wound up buying a foot care kit, a complete body care kit, two chapsticks and buttermilk cream. I also bought two more coconut paddy candies, and a magic pen book for Mike. Do you remember those? They're a book of games where you have to use the magic pen to reveal answers and stuff. Mike was supposed to have his surgery in four days and we used to love those books, so I thought it would be funny to get him one to do when he was feeling better. I got one for myself, too. Mom also wound up buying two cute figurines for the backyard - one of a frog under a beach umbrella and one of a frog under a palm tree.
When we got back to the condo the sky was absolutely gorgeous. You could actually see the rays of the sun, which you don't get to see a lot around the city. It was definitely a nice send-off from the Orlando God's, haha! Mom and dad wanted to go out to a few stores so they dropped Mike and I off in front of the condo before leaving. Mike and I hung out outside for a little while, taking pictures of the sky and laughing about things, before we went inside to keep Oreo company. When mom and dad got back we all watched TV. By then it was around 8:30 and I still hadn't packed. Oh well. A crazy, crazy storm rolled in at around that time, with constant lightening that just lit up the sky. Dad had already packed up the video camera and didn't want me to take it back out, but after some whining and begging he got it out and Mike and I opened up the blinds in mom and dad's room to videotape the storm. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. While we were taping the storm, mom gave Oreo another bath since it was easier doing it here than at home, and I videotaped a little of that, too.
When I went back downstairs dad was watching wrestling and there wasn't much to do, so I finally went up to my room to pack. It was NOT fun. I couldn't get everything to fit! I could hardly even find all my stuff. I walked around the house collecting my stuff from the different rooms, and then took all of my clothes, shoes, accessories, etc. out of the draws and closet in my room. I organized it all as best as I could and shoved it in my suitcase. A lot of my stuff wound up in Disney bags along with our souvenirs. I was definitely going home with a lot more than I had come with! I finally finished at 10:30, with only the toiletries I would need that night and the next morning left to pack. We all watched "Family Guy" before I went up to bed at 1:00. I couldn't believe that our last day in Orlando had come to an end.
