All through high school my friends had been huge fans of Rent. I had heard of the show but never really looked into it or had any urge to see it. Then Rent was turned into a major blockbuster film and I was completely hooked the first time I saw it. I loved the movie and watched it over and over again. More so than the film, though, I loved the soundtrack. I listened to it non-stop and quickly had it memorized. When the opportunity arose to see the show with my Grandma, Aunt Debbie and cousin Carianne I jumped at the chance. Aunt Debbie used her UFT discount to get $30 tickets. We weren't expecting to get great seats, but when we arrived at the box office that day to pick up our tickets we were psyched to find out that we were in the third row! We went for an early dinner at Daniella's, my favorite Italian restaurant in Times Square, and then saw the show. I thought that I may have a hard time getting into it since I was so used to seeing and hearing the original Broadway cast in the film, but the show was even better than I had expected and it quickly made its way to the very top of my list of favorite Broadway shows.
