Uncle Pete, my dad's brother, has been a musician all his life. He started playing in local bands when he was younger and by the time he was in his early twenties he and his band were playing in some of the most popular clubs around the city. Now, twenty years later, his tastes have changed. Throughout the past five years he has been putting together a giant orchestra called Cal, and creating some really beautiful New Age and instrumental music. His first album, Horizons, was even picked up by both the Oprah Winfrey show and the Oxygen Network to be used as background music. Pretty cool!

Although Cal had found success with their albums, they had never played live before... until now. This was an amazing concert put on by my Uncle Pete and the rest of Cal at the Peekskill Stage in Peekskill, New York. Hundreds of people showed up to witness the performance and it was a very cool thing to see. Cal's music is not the type of music I normally listen to but the concert was great. Afterward almost everyone on my dad's side of the family went around the corner from the venue to a local cafe/bar to have dessert and drinks.
