Wednesday, October 3

After meeting up with Ryan (finally!) and riding buses, songthaews and a ferry for a whole day, I've arrived in Ko Phangan, on the eastern coast of southern Thailand. We've met up with this couple from Israel, named Dina and Alon and have been spending time with them, swimming and drinking on the beach.

More specifically, I am on the sunset side of Hat Rin, a small tourist town that has a decent beach, the perfect amount of ammenities and great night parties o the sand. There are a lot of cheap bungalows or rooms to choose from, and I've taken advantage of that by staying a new place each night. As mentioned, the place really perks up when the sun goes down and the firedancers begin their shows all along the watrefront. Thai rhum is served in buckets, music pumps from every restaurant and store and farang are hanging out everywhere. I think I will only be able to handle one more night of it before I move along to some quieter corner of the island.
