Stopped in Liverpool, NS located on the Mersey River that flows into the Atlantic ocean. Had a great lunch at Lane's Privateer Inn (I highly recommend a stop here) and continued onward.
The Town of Digby has been an active fishing and lumber producing community throughout the years. Famous for the delicious scallops harvested from local waters, spectacular vistas of The Annapolis Basin from the waterfront, clear crisp air, and of course the incredible tides (28 to 35 ft.) in the harbor.
Digby is central to many activities, including historic sites, some of the best whale watching in North America, parks, hiking trails, and a local championship golf course.
Tonight we stay at the Bayside Inn...right on the waterfront. Again we scored a great room on the third floor facing the water. Headed for the Captain's Cabin for scallops...you gotta try the scallops if you're in the scallop capital of the world!
