Its a lazy Sunday of the winter season! With great difficulty me and my husband got up and got our two year old daugher ready for this trip which was being conducted by our friend. We drove around 15 kms to pick other two friends and drove straight to this quaint village aroudn 15 kms before Tumkur a small town close to Bangalore.

The other members in the group were waiting for us at the entrance of the village in a tractor and I just hopped out of the car along with my daughter to enjoy this ride. Poor Subir , he was left alone with another friend to follow us!

The group was welcomed by the host family. The lady of the house greeted everyone by putting Tilak ( Vermellion) on the forehead. And served us tasty breakfast of rice with spices which is locally called Chitranna.

After that we all went for a village tour.It was really exciting to play the local games like marbles, skipping, Gilli Danda (?) ,Top,etc . All of us thoroughly enjoyed this session. We also visited a very old village temple. The host Vishwam also took us to the place where the entire village assmbles once a year and stay there the whole night .They slaughter the goat and hen as as a offering to the village deity as the belief goes that the entire village was saved from Cholera during the epidemic , when they had congregated at that canopy.

We came back to the host house where we were served a very tasty meal of Chapatis, rice, beans and a sweet dish. After the lunch we went towards the Dam and the cave temple. We came back to the host house one last time for tea and snacks and it was time to say good bye to these lovely villagers who really made our day!!
