We are now in Townsville in Queensland. The weather is back to hot again, today we join the Coral Princess for our cruise on the GB reef. I am looking forward to the Scuba diving and snorkelling. Today all the shops are closed as it is a bank holiday in Australia (Anzac day) so we have found this internet cafe as we wait to join our cruise.
Yesterday we were able to go to the bank to get some cash and top up on our toiletries. We went out for a meal last night to a typical Aussie steak house and had a 'ripper steak' as they say around here, I'm getting the lingo!
We have spoken to Glynn more on holiday than we do at home. We phone each other regularly so we are kept informed of what is going on at home. He is coping well with his new found freedom. (no mention of wild parties)

Must go - g'day mates Ava & John

Wigan scores
Ava and John,
Just been looking at your last pics of Sydney ( and before) more great photos and good to see John in a few ( I particularly like the 'pose' on the hire car you had before arriving in Sydney).
Weather looks much better than here! ( Stevenage 1pm on Weds 26th is dull, overcast, cool wind and about 10 Deg C- I bet you're missing it!?)
I see that you say that you've been speaking regularly to Glynn and maybe he's keep you upto date with the sport. Anyway, just in case: Wigan football team have had 2 draws, 2 defeats and 1 win since you left- and unfortunately cannot make it into Europe now (Arsenal got through to Champions League Final last night).
Wigan Rugby League won their first match last weekend after 7 defeats. They now have Brian Noble (from Bradford)as their coach after sacking Millward - so he's got off to a good start, particularly as he only got there a couple of days before the match!

Please keep adding more Pics it fascinating watching your progress and seeing images from all these far flung locations.- How many pics have you taken so far?

I guess you won't be reading this until your return from the trip to the GB reef - I look forward to more pics then.

All the best,
Andy Walton

Cairns and the GBF
Hi you two, bored of the sunshine yet? One daft question; has your luggage kept up with you, or has any gone astray?
If you're going diving at the GBF what's the name of the company you're going with? The reason I ask is that there's a company called Oceanfree based in Cairns that's run by the uncle of young Kelly who sits opposite me. If you did go with them that'd be a coincidence/small world etc.

All the best and keep the pictures coming

Thanks for the update
Were back from the cruise so just catching up with the mails. Glynn hasn't mentioned anything about the football or rugby, thanks for the update, Brian Noble thats a good catch!. I think I have taken about 800 pics so far its difficult to say, I've filled the card once and then I blow out 100 at a time now and again when I've loaded them to the HD. The HD is working great I'm pleased with it. Its difficult to get pictures of me because Ava is not familiar with the Camera so I always look wooden or my heads missing or something.

Hope all is well back at home

See you soon John & Ava

Re: Cairns and the GBF
We are now back from the reef cruise, the company we went with is called Coral Princess cruises, so no relation I'm afraid. No problems with the luggage yet but now we could be tempting fate!

Hope all is well with the family and the old boys

See ya soon John & Ava

Re: Brings Back Memories!
Sydney was great but we didn't have time for the Bridge walk. We are now back from the cruise all went well but I couldn't pluck up the courage to go scuba diving but I've now mastered the Snorkelling.

See you soon Ava & John
