If you are EVER in the south central Michigan area, definitely, DEFINITELY, visit the Travelers Club and Tuba Museum in Okemos! This great restuarant serves a different ethnic/national food theme each month, in addition to a full line of 'regular' food and beers.

HOW'S THIS for a delicious Swedish dinner? We had split pea soup, smoked white fish, pickled herring, rye bread with herb butter, haroset (applesauce, cinnamin and wine), pytti pannam (onion, potoato, beef hash), plus steamed kale and wonderful Swedish-style beans, with honey and vinaeger. DeLISH!

The small restuarant/tavern is filled with Sousaphones, Euphoniums, and of course, bigass TUBAs. Lots and lots of tubas! We were seated in one of the booths, with a world map next to us on the wall. I told our cute waitress that I was headed to Ghana, and she exclaimed, "My sister JUST got back from Ghana. She was doing some sort of non-profit work!" "Me too!" I said. Gave her ten dollar tip.

If you visit the Tuba Museum, make sure you don't walk past the big steamroller flattened tuba, set in concrete outside. It's just a whole lot of FLAT!

We just completed the well-attended NASCO Institute at U of M-Ann Arbor. I had a very good crowd for my "How To Promote the Helloutta' Your Co-op for Cheap...Or Even for FREE!" Workshop. NASCO is always great. Did you know that NOW is the Golden Age of Student Housing Co-ops? It's true! Hundreds of new co-op units are being designed, funded and built in many cities...including Austin! http://www.nasco.coop/

TOMORROW IS OUR LAST DAY IN AMERICA...
We are doing a number of interesting things in the Motor City, then packing it in and flying to Paris!

Stay tuned!
