Salta, northern Argentina

From Puerto Madryn it was another 20 hours on the bus back to to Buenos Aires, where I organised a flght to Salta in northern Argentina. I must say I felt quite pleased with myself managing to pay for my ticket over the phone by credit card as well as book the hostel with my terrible Spanish.
I arrived in Salta last night and have spent today wandering around. THe city is interesting because it is such a change from Buenos Aires, but apart from the main square, some of the churches and the cable car which gives great views over the city there doesn´t seem to be heaps here. It is a good base though for trips to some of the amazing desert´s and national parks in the region, but it is likely that Nick and I will be back here in November, so I don´t want to see too much in advance, and instead I am taking a bus early tomorrow morning across the Andes to San Pedro de Atacama in CHile.
