Olomouc

Due to outdated bus timetables and cancelled buses it ended up taking more than 11 hours to get to Olomouc from Cesky Krumlov. I guess it's a taste of things to come in SOuth America, and I'd better get used to long bus trips!
Olomouc (pronounced Ollomoats), is a university town 250 km east of Prague. It had a beautiful town square and lovely architecture like Prague, just without the tourists, which was lovely. The town is famous for its astronomical clock, remodelled by the Communists with proleterian workers in place of the 12 apostles (see movie). The town square is really nice, and so peaceful compared to Prague. I wandered around the cobbled alleyways, ate some really interesting Czech food, and visited the botanic gardens. The town has a really nice feel, and I'm glad I went.
From here it's a short bus trip back to Prague, where I catch a flight to Amsterdam and then on to Heathrow to meet Nick and the gang. With the foiled plot to blow up American planes departing from the UK security at Heathrow will be very tight, and I'm hoping there will be no more flight cancellations, which would leave me stuck in Amsterdam.
