Hello Everyone,

We are in another city along the Garden Route called Plettenberg Bay. It has a beautiful look to this place. From up top of the town you look down to a long stretch of white sand beach. There is a huge sand bar just off the shore. The surrounding areas of the town are very lush and green.

We stayed at what they call the cadillac of backpackers. Of course the price is more as well. It worked out to about $50 Canadian, but well worth it. A small amount of money can get you a lot more here sometimes. It is called Nothando's Backpackers. It is really more like a hotel, but has the common kitchen for you to make your own meals if you wish. Some of the extras included, a huge room and ensuite, big fluffy towels, a t.v. in the room, coffee and tea in the room, comfy duvets on the beds, and your room gets made up everyday. It had a bar area and was in easy walking to all the amenities you need. It was a nice walk to town, along the way were great views of the ocean. In town there are lots of great restaurants and shops.

This place ended up being a catch up place for us. We finally had to give in and do the boring task of laundry. At least here we had a proper laundromat to do it in. Hand washing gets to be a pain in the butt. We spent alomst a day on the internet doing the blog and posting pictures. Other than that we just kicked back and relaxed. We went out for a drink one evening with a couple we had bumped into at 3 different backpackers now. It was becoming quite humerous each time that we would spot them at a new location. They are another couple from Switzerland, and very nice. We now have two offers to stay with someone in Switzerland. We might just have to divert our travels there while in Europe.

For other travellers that may be reading our blog. Here is some transportation info.
We are getting used to hearing the complaints about the Baz Bus while we have been travelling from place to place. It is the main transportation that backpackers use to get from one point to another if they don't have their own car. It seems to be late a lot of the time. Sometimes you waste a whole day travelling on it a short distance because of all the stops it makes. Also when you arrive at some places you will end up spending more money because you have to book tours to see anything. We have learnt over the last 6 weeks that even though the car rental may have appeared to be more expensive, it isn't. Over the long run we will be further ahead. We go everywhere ourselves, we don't have to book tours. We also get to go anywhere we want, other wise you are limited to the Baz Bus route or the major cities that the other buses take you to.

See you at the next stop Oudtshoorn
