Hi Everyone,

This won't be too exciting of an entry since London was basically just a quick stop as an entry point into Africa. Our flight went well from Vancouver to London. It was a redeye flight and unfortunately neither one of us got much sleep, if any at all.

We arrived in soggy London at about 1:30 pm and soon made our way to our hotel. We caught the tube to get there. The pace and number of people that get transported on the system is unreal. Thousands of people, all in such a hurry to get where ever they are going. You have to risk your life to try and cross through the herd of people if you need to get through an intersection walkway. If your're not careful you can get trampled!

We made it to our hotel, it was the most hilarious thing we have ever seen. It was a clean place, with about 25 rooms. Reasonably priced considering it was right downtown London. The catch, it only had a few rooms on each floor and continued to go upwards thru the tiniest hallways we have every seen. We could hardly fit thru them with our daypacks on our backs, let alone our regular backpacks. Only one of us could come up thru the door that was at the top of the stairs to our room, then the other one would have to reposition to get out of the way and hold the door while the other one squeezed thru.

Once in our room it was the size of the bed and then only enough room on the floor for the bags, so we had to basically climb over them to get anywhere, lol. Jack was pinned in the small bed against the headboard, the wall and a large amoire at the end of the bed, lol. Of course I hogged up my usual amount of space. We settled in for bed about 6pm since our bodies were so whacked from the time change. Then it was up early to get back to Heathrow airport for our next flight.

See you soon.

hi there
Been following your travels and am quite enjoying them
Have a suggestion for u while you are in Africa. You should try a drink called amarula. It comes from the marula tree which is also called the elephant tree because the elephants love the fruit. Give it a try - it is very yummy!
