I started my trip around Ireland in Belfast...such a change from Galway. I only spent one day there and I just wandered around, looking at the murals on Skankhill road and Ferry Road. It was really interesting, yet sad...to see all the anger that was and still is there. To walk thru the "Peace Gate" which was built to separate the Prodastants and the Catholics, and it's still closed at night. I couldn't really describe and instance or a conversation that could fully describe the feeling you get from the city, that feeling of unrest, instability and a lot of bitter suffering. I've also been really lucky to talk to some people while I've been on the road, to hear their take on the history of things, why they think things are the way they are, etc etc. It's really been an extremely educational and humbling experience.
