After some harrowing hours airport hopping...I finally made it to my final destination: Vancouver.
I found Lucas there waitig for me upon my arrival...and asked him if my dad had been able to get a hold of him earlier in the day. He stated that my dad had called him at 6 AM to let him know. Apparently my dad forgot about the time difference between Vancouver and Ottawa. LOL. Poor Lucas. I hugged him and apologized for my father's faux pas.
Within minutes...Lucas and I were back to the non-stop laughs that characterized our times together at OVH. Anyone who ever worked at OVH when both Lucas and I were on the floor can attest to the madness that occurs whenever the two of us share the same breathing space. Our time at OVH was vert short...he was coming in just as I was leaving...but it was enough to begin what hopefully will be a lifelong friendship.Anyway, we were just laughing SO hard at like...everything. I was somewhat loopy (more so than usual) from the lack of sleep and swollen lower extremities and just wanted to get away from the airport environment. Lucas drove me in his chariot to his humble (recently acquired abode) and introduced me to Trevor (his significant other) and his doggie Athena. We sat down and caught up on the most recent happenings and then took doggie out for a walk. The weather was cool...but bearable. We returned to the house and then I was able to take a nice hot and un-interrupted shower. Guys, you have no idea how border-orgasmic that was. I had been having shower problems in my apartment back in Brazil for as long as I could remember. I was at the point where I was taking 30 second showers because that's how much hot water I would get. Crazy! A steady stream was just what I needed! After my fantastic shower...Trevor and Lucas took me to a Greek restaurant. I had been missing some quality Greek food and the restaurant they took me to (Neighbour's) was FABULOUS. We had some souvlaki, dalmatha and some fried cheese thing I can't remember the name of. I had some hard-core high-alcohol content Canadian beer and just reveled in my first bit of ethnic food in quite some time. We spent hours there just eating and being merry (mostly myself and Lucas...with Trevor looking at us like we were a bunch of lunatics) and then headed back to the apartment. Lucas and Trevor ever-so-graciously bequeathed their fantastic soft bed to me and I think I was unconscious the moment my head touched the pillow. I usually toss and turn quite a bit during my sleep...but I did not even twitch that night...I was so exhausted!
