Since I stepped foot in this county, it has been cloudy and rainy and "cold". Cold here is like...25 degrees Celsius! LOL! I keep telling them here that we up in Canada would kill for a winter with THAT kind of temperature! Anyway...I made use of the beautiful deck here at the house and lounged by the pool for a few hours just soakin' some sun. I haven't been able to put up any pictures cuz they have windows 98 here on their PC and I cannot for the love of God get the drivers installed for my digital camera. With windows XP it just picks it up automatically. Photos will have to wait until Monday when I move on over to my Uncle's house in Rio.
Went to my Aunt Gina's house today with my cousin Marcela to watch 'Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen' in Portuguese. It was quite a different experience...having the movie in Portuguese and reading English subtitles. She has this 4 month old puppy named 'Nina' that is the cutest thing ever
Leonardo (my other cousin, son of Aunt Teresa) came down today. He's hella tall and quite handsome. His girlfriend is cute as a button too. Tomorrow there is talk of going to the beach (if *hopefully* the weather holds) and going for a jetski ride out on the lagoon.
My cousins (especially Eduardo and Guillerme) think I am the greatest thing since sliced bread. I have been on the Play Station with them, I've played computer games with them, I've watched soccer games with them on TV and I've played soccer out in the yard with them. (I kinda kicked Guillerme's ass - LOL). They see me as an equal I think...and not really as 'the 26 year old cousin from Canada'. Which is great. We joke around and have been just going non-stop since I got here. They are great kids and I enjoy doing things with them. My Portuguese is improving by the hour! LOL! It's gonna be tough having to switch back to an English thought process. I can see myself launching into portuguese conversations with people in Canada the first bit. Prepare to be confused!
I cannot tell you how nice it is to wake up and have breakfast made and ready to eat. Not having to make my bed or wash any dishes is a great bonus. I might just have to invest in a maid that does all that back in Canada! LOL. Yah right...maybe if I wil the lottery...
Anyway, that's all for now. Again...my apologies for the lack of pictures...but we are currently experiencing technical difficulties. ;) There will be tons on Monday or so. Tchau for now!

Nina
. They say that she is a mix between a Lhasa Apso and a Yorkie...but my trained professional eye tells me she is a Chihuahua/Pom mix LOL. I'll post the pictures soon....you tell me. We went for a car ride and Nina threw up several times...on ME. LOL. My poor Aunt kept apologizing...but I told her it was nothing new really. I've been puked on, peed on and covered head to toe in blood. I'm immune baby! All in a day's work at OVH! LOL. I saw a lil' Jack Russell on the beach the other day. I kinda played with him a bit...I didn't wanna touch him cuz he looked mangy, flea ridden and covered in ticks. But he was cute (I was thinking of you Emilie) and afterwards he tried following us home and actually camped out in front of the back yard gate hoping we would come back and love him some more. The min poodle 'Pink' also loves me to bits now. When she is with me...no one can try to pick her up and take her away from me...she will lunge at them and try to bite them...yes...even her own people who have known her most of her life! I'm loved...I really am LOL. Leonardo (my other cousin, son of Aunt Teresa) came down today. He's hella tall and quite handsome. His girlfriend is cute as a button too.
