I have taken a few planes in my life and yet I have not ever experienced ignorance like the pair in front of us on our first flight to Montreal. Ben got a rug burn on his forhead during turbulance because the seat in front of him was pushed so far back. They weren't sleeping, it was without need, they did it simply because they could. Then, they would monopolize the staff, holding up the beverage cart to talk books. Now, I love books but there is a time and a place and it is not when other people are thirsty. To make matters worse, we were trying to watch Evan Almighty (not a good movie) but we were watching it and that is the point. They chose to have another lengthy discussion with the stewardess right at the end of the movie, complete blocking our view, totally oblivious and a total lack of consideration. I have to admit I haven't been this annoyed at fellow travellers in a while.
The flight has been fairly smooth otherwise, although the airport no longer rents DVD players which ruins our plan of watching two seasons of Entourage. (Unfortunately we will have to carry them around now, unopened for 24 days but I am sure they will be just as good when we get home).
-Ashley
I was already done with planes about 10 minutes into the flight, fidgeting around as I do best and then Ashley agreed it would be alright that I take a my shoes off. Wow, what a feeling, seriously if you haven't flown shoeless, you should try it. I felt so comfortable instantaneously and was all set to... and WAM! my feet were pressed up against my chest. I am not sure how you send a message back to ignorant people without actually ringing their neck. I mean, ignorance shows a lack of knowledge of those around you in the first place so when my subtle signs turned into resting my elbows on the back of her chair beside her head because it was closer than my pull out table should have been, I am pretty sure it went unnoticed. I could no longer breath let alone do a crossword. Oh well, I love my ipod. music has saved me once again.
