Where I stayed
Today I went for a walk into the downtown area, the city centre here is really small. I got soaking wet with sweat as I was walking around. I found the Arizona Centre which is a really nice and small shopping centre, it has some really nice garden areas for relaxing, and most importantly, it has a Starbucks, so I can have my Caramel Frappucinos every day. I found a souvenir shop and bought myself 3 T-Shirts, a cap, and come sunglasses.
I booked myself a tour of the Grand Canyon for Tuesday, I was clever and found a tour guide who's number was a local Arizona number, so I can phone up free from my hotel room's landline. The tour is 13 hours long and costs $145, which includes the pick up at the hotel, entry fees to the Grand Canyon national park, and unlimited bottled water!
The trees here buzz very loudly with the sound of mental Arizona insects, and everything is a light orange / brown colour, the pavements, the buildings etc. It's a nice desert atmosphere, I like this city the most so far.
In the evening I went out to eat at HOOTERS, the infamous American restaurant / bar chain. It was rather nice, and cheap as well. I had a massive western BBQ burger with a side of curly fries. I didn't bother with a dessert this time. The female staff wear next to nothing as well which is alright! There doesn't seem to be any gratuity charged here in Arizona which is a plus, it's just the basic small amount of tax.
I went back to the hotel and watched some TV, Saw II was on so I watched that for a bit, along with more silly adverts for pills and medicines that can get you a girlfriend and help you lose weight!. Sleepy time.
