What day is it? What time is it? It's now 3:42am and I'm wide awake! .... fyi.. I'm now nocturnal... all backwards like the gorgeous country I arrived back from! It's a small price to pay for such a great experience down under. Thanks for listening!.. I hope you have enjoyed the travel logs as much as I have enjoyed writing them. This will be my last correspondence until the next trip.! I want to do Asia! Maybe I will teach English in South Korea and Andrew really wants to go to Japan... You never know. Travelling makes the world go around... offering wonderful opportunities for social and personal growth... Australia was truly amazing... and further to the interesting Aussie wildlife I saw the news the other day with Robin Willliams in Baghdad.. entertaining the US soldiers.... with "Gooooood Morning Baghdad!" He recognized some Australians and said "you [Australia] have some animals that prove that God loved to drink cocktails... " : ) .. well put Robin!

Here is some Aussie slang as promised....
A fanny pack is called a bum bag as fanny or flange are both names for the female part... so you don't say fanny pack! Auto body shops are called Smash Centres or Panel beaters! It's hot as buggery and if someone mocks you you say "Are you taking the piss out of me?".. Crazy is bunta or troppo... and when you are full after eating you can say "I'm full as a fairy's phone book or as a fat girls socks"...Candy floss is called fairy floss and you put up fairy lights at Christmas... When you order a coffee it's a flat white, or a short black... You need your cozzie and your sunnies when you go to the beach.. A dunny is slang for outdoor toilet and in the outback you use the dunny at your own risk (look for snakes and spiders before sitting). Fairdinkum can replace "really?" You order a beer by a schooner or a midi and a tip is not expected for anything in Oz! and the level of service is better there.... just maybe the whole system of tipping doesn't work... A turps snatcher is a heavy drinker and the "leavers" were probably turps snatchers... The students just out of school for summer vacation were called "Leavers" in Western Australia anyway. You buy your liquor in a "bottle shop" and you can buy pre-made "cs cowboys" (Butterscotch schnapps and Baileys) absolutely delicious!.. the cs stands for c*(&^ sucking and you'll find this drink on menus everywhere... BYOG is bring your own grog (alcohol)... and if you are drinking you are "on the grog". if you are alone drinking you are "drinking with the flies" Doodle or donger are the male part and "It's dry as a dead dingos donger or a nun's nasty" in the desert. In a casino you play the pokies and a game called "two up"...
It's been ridgy didge, This shiela is off to hit the frog and toad to an early am Bikram (hot) yoga class... where it will be hot as buggery.. and I'll feel like I'm back in the desert.
Take care, be well, have a great holiday season!
Crocodile Dundee signing off.....
