. Food is the answer to crankiness and we find a place down the road that doesn’t have a 15% cover charge on everything you buy. The food did us a world of good and we devoured away our pain and anger in the form of pizza and seafood pasta.
We went next door to buy some penis pasta as a present for Rach and Phillipp. Then head back to the tower with spirits lifted and we are ready and eager to act the fool for some cliché photos. We spend an hour in the sun sitting on the grass outside the tower watching others take their photos and listening to all the action. The couples arguing the friends instructing and just enjoying the Italian sun while its out. We head off a different way we had come and ended up getting lost yet again on the way back to the station. The nice man who gave us directions to the train station actually sent us to a local one and not the main one that we were looking for. As the main station comes in sight we actually cheer and clap. We grab our souvenirs and get our butts on the next train out of there. We make sure to validate our tickets and set off towards Florence for our last night.
We left Florence early in the hopes to get the train out to Pisa. The ticket machine was confusing and the line was huge but we eventually got our tickets and got on the train without a problem. We did encounter some issues on the train when the inspector checked our tickets and it seemed that we were meant to validate our tickets before boarding. Luckily the two girls across from us had the same issue and they sorted it out for us and the man let us off without a fee. We made it into Pisa and the weather couldn't have been better. Feeling adventurous we don’t get any maps of the city and just wing it. This starts out good as we follow the signs towards the tower. The seams come unstuck the minute I see an interesting looking church and we change course, the day turns sour as we get lost for the next 40 minutes or so following a big brick all around til the end of the street we have no Idea which way to go. We finally find a sign pointing us in the right direction and as we first come across the beautiful scene ahead of us neither of us are in the mood for happy snaps and photos
