Hard to believe that a week has gone by since I have come back from my trip. In my last blog I left off when we were leaving Sabang. Leaving Sabang was quite the task. During peak season traveling between Sabang and El Nido is a little easier. There are boats that go along the coast daily and this is normally the best way to travel because many of the roads on the island still aren't paved. The problem with the boat is that you need 6 people to take it. We weren't able to find enough people to take the boat so we were left with taking a van. We were in for a surprise on this ride. It was nice because we had a private, air conditioned van but the 5 1/2 hr ride was pretty interesting. Many of the roads aren't paved on the island but they are in the process of being paved. We drove through road construction for about 3 hrs! It felt like we were on 4-wheeler trails! We eventually made it to El Nido and found a place to stay along the beach. We had a great view overlooking the bay. After getting all checked in we explored the quaint little town. There were only about 2 main roads with little road side stands and restaurants. After some exploring we got ready for dinner. We found a place called Blue Azul. It was a quiet little restaurant, we were the only ones there. We enjoyed our dinner and had some drinks. We decided to start playing some games then too. We then met a new friend from Germany. He was an older guy who just came in and started talking to us. He was a strange guy but he provided some good laughs and entertainment for a while. We called it a night early because we had a island hopping tour in the morning.

In the morning we set out on an island hopping tour. This was an all day tour where we were able to go to many different islands and lagoons and snorkel and swim. We went on the tour with two other girls, one from England and another American. The islands that we were able to go to were absolutely amazing. The water we were swimming in was crystal clear and it was so calm that it made snorkeling really easy. We had beautiful weather too. The tour included a lunch so we stopped at an island and they cooked us up some lunch. This included BBQ fish, this was the whole fish. It was actually pretty good despite having to pull out all the bones and see it looking at me. The day was so wonderful. I wish we would have had another day in El Nido so I could have done another tour. That night we met up with the girls from our tour for dinner. I love meeting up with new people and hearing their traveling stories. After dinner we ended up going to another restaurant to meet up with some other travelers. There was a group of 10 of us from all over the world (Germany, England, Austria, Switzerland, Australia, the Philippines and Americans). We hung out and had some drinks. After that place closed we ended up going to another bar to from drinks and some live music. We had a great night hanging out. We even ended up at the little dance club in town to do a little dancing. We ended the night with a little midnight swim in the ocean. It was a great night!

The next morning we packed up for another long van ride to Puerto Princesa, the city we would fly out of. The people that we met in El Nido all recommended a place to stay, Banwa. It was a cute little, artsy resort. We spent the afternoon walking around town and exploring the city. It was so hot though. We were pretty tired from our lack of sleep and long day of travel so we rested the rest of the day at our hostel. The next morning we went on another island hopping tour in Honda Bay. It was another great day spent out in the sun. The snorkeling on this tour wasn't as good as in El Nido but we did get to see more fish on this tour. We stopped at our last island for lunch and had time to relax and swim. We had a group of 4 Philippinos on our tour. Two of them now live in the states and the other two still live in the Philippines. They were a really nice group of guys and we had fun talking with them. On this island they also had massages. You could get a massage for 100 pesos, this is about $2.50!! We all got 30 min massages right on the beach! It was a great way to spend our last day on the island. We had a great day and it was so hard to have to leave. We left just enough time to head back to our hostel, get showered and get to the airport. We flew out that night and arrived back in Taipei very early Monday morning.

The trip overall was great. It was really relaxing and we were able to see such a beautiful place. I hope to some day be able to return to explore more of the islands!

Sine my trip I have been busy at work. We are making more progress getting this ready for the new school. This past weekend we had another open house and we had a lot of parents and students. It was a success. The next couple weeks with be busy getting things ready for when the new teachers arrive on June 24th. This past weekend we also had a bachelorette for one of the ex-Chinese teachers. She is going to marry one of the foreign teachers and she is moving to America in July. It was a fun night out on the town with the girls!

I am keeping a countdown for when I come home. It is fast approaching....only 26 more days!! I am planning a little get together when I am home on July 17th so I can see as many people as possible. We will have some food and drinks and I would love for you to stop by and say hello. I will have more details as it gets closer. Be sure to mark it on your calendar!

Well until next ya and miss ya! :)
