Hello everyone and Happy Mother's Day to my mom and all other moms!! I hope you have a great day!! Things have been moving right along here. The weather is now getting hot here and we are entering the crunch to finish everything by the end of the year. Temperatures have been consistently in the 80's for a while. It would have been nice to have a little bit more of the spring weather I am used too. It just means I have a long summer of hot temps ahead of me!

This past week I stayed busy with trying to get ahead in my planning to prepare for my vacation at the end of the month. Though I worked my butt off I still found myself just able to keep up with the work! On top of my normal classes they have been having me sub as much in the kindergarten as possible to prepare me for next year. That makes the days extra long and takes away my prep time. It will be useful next year though. Tomorrow I have a classroom of twenty 2 1/2 - 3 yr olds! It will be a long one! I have also been busy with meetings for training and planning for the new school. On Friday I got to head over to the new school to start testing some of the new students. It was nice to get over there and actually start doing things. I may start going over every Friday afternoon to start getting everything organized and sorted through for the fast approaching first day....July 5! Yikes!!

This past weekend I was able to take a trip up to Taipei with some of the teachers to celebrate South Africa Day. There is a pretty large number of South Africans here in Taiwan so they have a day to celebrate with South African food and drinks. We went up with 2 of the South African teachers from Cornel. These year it was set up as an outdoor festival. Though it was supposed to rain, the rain held off and it was a cool overcast day! It was perfect...I got a little sun without getting sun burnt! I was able to enjoy boerewors rolls (similar to a brat) and Hunters (a cider drink). It was a great day. After spending the day outside we went to a few bars to party afterwards. We had a great weekend. All of the people that I went with will be leaving this summer to go home so it is nice to squeeze in some fun weekends before we all part our ways.

56 days until I am home!!

Well until next ya and miss ya!!
