I flew from Los Angeles to Chicago. I spent about a week in Chicago. It is a cool place and I stayed a bit longer than expected because I was over traveling after covering 1700 miles in the previous week. I stayed at the Parthenon hostel in the Greek part of the city.

Chicago was a nice city with lots of cool looking buildings and sculptures. I did a number of walking tours through the city checking out millennium park, Michigan Avenue and the golden mile.

On Tuesday night I went to Wrigley and watched the cubs play Houston. They were terrible but their fans love to party so it was a fun experience.

Throughout the week I spent a number of days sun bathing at north avenue and Ohio street beach. The freshwater of lake Michigan is awesome. I visited the science and industry museum. I enjoyed this as there were some really interesting displays. I also visited the free zoo. I stayed over the weekend to watch the Shell Airshow. This was really cool and well worth staying to watch. Unfortunately I did not get to go up the Willis Tower as I was a touch late to get there on my last night in the city.

On Monday I decided to take a tour of the university of Illinois Chicago. This included finding a college bar and having a cheap frothies.

The week was really enjoyable. Good food, cheap drinks and a good place.
