After Munich we made our way to Salzburg, to spend a night there. I really, really liked Austria. The home of Mozart, the Sound of Music, and monks. It was a really pretty city and I got some amazing views of the city from the top of the castle that belonged to Archbishops back in the day. After our walking tour I walked the city with Sam and the guy from Brazil. (His name is Diego.) Diego is a complete character. It's hard to explain Diego, unless you meet him. His two favorite musical artists are Madonna and Kylie Monogue (although he swears he's not gay!) and his favorite English word is 'amazing'. He says it about every 5 seconds, about everything, and after about the second day on the tour everyone was saying it like him.

So in Salzburg I got to walk around a castle, a beautiful cemetery, Mozart's birthplace, a giant chessboard, a world of string puppets, and a beautiful cathedral. I also bought a warm jacket and a winter headband that covers my ears, because it was bloody cold!

Our dinner that night was provided, and it was really nice. Their potatoes are a lot different than the American version. They are softer, and chewier. I really liked German and Austrian food, but if I stayed there too long I would probably weigh 500 pounds, because all of their meals are so heavy on the stomach. Classic meat and potatoes. After Salzburg we finally hit the Italian border!
