Took a mathree (which was jazaad to the max) to the ruins of Pisac. There were great views of the gorges on either side if the ruins. The ruins consisted of well preserved temples, working water channels, ceremonial baths, fortresses and a ceremonial centre. Trekked down to the village of Pisac along a 4km Inca trail around the mountains.
Carried on to the the ceremonial site of Q´enqo famous for its carved amphitheatre, staircases, seats and winding water channels.
Further up the collosal fortress of Saqsaywaman (not sexy woman) where some of the stones used to build the fortress weight upto 70 tonnes! The site was also the scene of a titanic battle between the Conquistadors and the Incas which resulted in a massive Inca massacre and attracted thousands of condors. Took another Inca road back to the city of Cusco.
