Morning walk, again seeing lots of birds and we were getting quite frustrated by the walk. Saw some more howler monkeys, a dead horse (supposedly killed by a snake) and then stumbled upon the anteater! This wasnīt the big anteater that tears open the termite mounds, instead it was the "lesser anteater" that lives in the trees. Still quite cool to see one and made the 7am morning walk worth while! In fact just before we saw it, Johnny stopped us in our tracks and told us to smell the air. Then he says "Termites! Can you smell?". Nobody admitted that they couldnīt and nodded their heads - and then we were looking on the ground for termite mounds and all the while heīs pointing at the tree with the anteater on it.

Heading back to Bonito today and it was a good thing to as the weather turned again leaving the Pantanal cold and wet...
