Hey dudes just got to England yesterday after a week in Japan. Had a
time - headed off on day trips to see temples in Kyoto (a lot of which
sandwiched between highly industrial areas which took a bit of the
charm away),
saw the giant buddha and some very awe-inspiring buildings and wooden
sculptures in Nara which was a lot nicer and had tons of very tame deer
wandering around being fed by the tourists. Inner city Osaka, Umeda was
dreary and grey but the other main city centre Namba was an amazing
of brightly lit neons, shopping districts and stuff going on
everywhere. They
are obsessed with pachinko here, a gambling game with metal balls going
in all
directions. the sound eminating from the pachinko halls is deafening.
we also
walked past a ton of arcade parlours with nothing but skill tester
games inside
them, or stranger again rows and rows of pokie machines especially
adapted for
the enjoyment of children! osaka aquarium was pretty cool but the whale
down the bottom looked a bit sad, also checked out Osaka castle which
has great
views from the top, giving you an idea of how big and built up Osaka
really is.
have been hitting the vending machines hard, i can't seem to get enough
of the
hot coffee in a can.food here is great to, burgers with rice buns
instead of
bread, hot fried octopus balls, sushi, and an all you can eat place
where they
brought out plate after plate of thinly sliced beef and chicken which
we cooked
ourselves over burning coals in the middle of our table
hope these pics turn out this libary computer is a pain in the ass to
with, free tho
