at Edithburgh we paid for a permit to stay/camp $35 for a week in any of the
many spots scattered throughout the “foot” of Yorke Pen. We drove past couple
that didn’t look OK for the bus but found one “She oak Beach” which was just ideal;
it was protected by the winds, accessible to the beach by a short dune, shade
trees and right over the road from the local wind farm!! They were by the most
part quiet, mostly just sounded like wind which there was anyway??!! They’re
not as big as the mighty ones over on the east coast, but awe inspiring
nevertheless!! So many times we caught ourselves mesmerised watch those blades,
turning, turning, turning, turning................................................................Oh
Picture of Our motorhome with Ash’s new wind generator,
it took forever to put up!!!!!
We went for loooong gorgeous walks along the beach,
picking up shells....argh!! For a compulsive “collector” that’s hard to shake,
but I did only keep a couple.......honest kids??? You do believe me don’t
We took nice drive down along the coast to check out some
of the many camp spots available, all close to the water albeit some with
cliffs some not, some good for Big Rigs some not, I’ve put them all on youtube
if anyone’s interested to have a look.
Incredibly hot 42 deg today we head off tomorrow.
Very baron country around there, but something to seewhich is different from the area we come from.
It's a shame that any roads that arnt on main roads are dirt, very well maintained but dusty as is the nature of the beast!! and most camps are off the main roads which is great but we gotta put up with it and mostly we unhitch Shadow and I drive at a distance behind the Motorhome so as not to "sand blast" the poor little girl!!
