I got mixed reviews on creating a blog for my trip abroad, but I have decided to do it anyways. I guess the test of time will reveal if I prefer updating on this blog over sending out emails. So far I'm just trying to figure out this blog and I don't really like the format of it.
Although I won't promise that I will be a faithful blogger, I will give a couple of guarantees. I will never use an exclamation point, and under no circumstances will there be a smiley face, or any kind of text face in my blog. It's just the kind of blog writer I am. There will however be misspelled words. Another reason to stick with email.
Updates on the trip so far: I am currently in Seattle and looking forward to my last weekend in the United States. Today I went to REI, twice.
My flight leaves this Monday at 8 at night, I will fly to London, then Johannesburg, and finally to Nelspruit, and from there I will drive an hour or so to Barberton, South Africa. I will be staying there for about two months.

Have a great trip!
I, on the other hand, will use exclamation points, but not randomly.
I am glad you are blogging. This is definitely a great way to keep a record of your experience and communicate to those of us who are interested. I am looking forward to this.
Best wishes,
Aunt Romey
Yippee!
Hi Anne,
I will definitely use both explanation points and faces ;)
I'm so excited you are off on this adventure and we get to hear about it, thanks for creating this blog! Have a great time and let us know if we can send you anything.
Love,
Carolyn
Very Excited For You
Hi Ann, we couldn't be more excited for you. What a great
opportunity to learn and experience a new culture. Puts my road trip to eleven states to shame. The blog is a great idea. I will also avoid any exclamation points, smiley faces, and uses of LOL etc...We look forward to following your adventures and just hearing from you.
Safe Travels,

Cute picture!
Hi Anne,
I am sorry I have been such a bad correspondent and now your Dad tells me you will be home soon. He also e-mailed me the picture you sent them--not much has changed since you danced with a flower pot on your head at age 3!! I look forward to seeing you in person and hearing about your adventures. Have a safe trip home.
Love
'Auntie' Ellen
