Taganga to Barranquilla

Ahea wa wa wa Ahea wa wa wa Ahea wa wa wa Wa wa ohhhhhh
Well time to leave Taganga, in the end I was there for 12 nights!!!! Quite a pause in the trip, and I think that I needed it. The casa de Felipe was a good place to hang out, talk to other travellers and just while away the hours. Not that I did nothing for the whole time. I completed the PADI Open Water Diving certification and can now dive everywhere. Hurrah!!!! This cost 515000 pesos, about 130 GBP given the exchange rate, which I am told is very cheap for that sort of thing.
The diving in any case was very good once I got over the initial shock of breathing underwater, and the only thing that I found really difficult was breathing without a mask on, just the regulator, cos the air bubbles were going up my nose and there was the reflex to want to breathe in through my nose. But once that and things like emptying the water out of the mask underwater were out of the way it was fine. Being under the water (was down to about 20m) was really something. Almost like flying in slow motion; at one point we were exploring a the wall of a reef, and I was down at the bottom, and looking up could see the other divers suspended above me, really felt like flying. Do it if you can would be my advice :-)
I found out that Shakira was playing in Barranquilla football stadium from some of the other hostelers and that a whole group was going, and also that the tickets were only 7500 pesos (with a Vivienda special discount card that one of the hostel girls had), so a load of us got some tickets, although in the end I ended up going independently, which was cheaper, and staying with Elosia, whom I had met at casa de Felipe too, and was kind enough to put me and two other gringos up for the night. An especial thanks to you Eloisa...
Concert was good too :-)
