Quiet day today, late morning start, we are on holiday after all, went to a predominantly Jewish restaurant for brunch.  Probably haven't mentioned before that both our main host Jay and Todd are Jewish.  Not hugely kosher but they don't make any secret of it.

Later we made our way to nearby Boca Ratan, romantic name ain't it, until you find out that it comes from Spanish for mouse mouth, the shape of the harbour apparently!!  Anyway next to Boca Ratan is an area called Yamato named by the Japanese who emigrated there in the late 1800's and started farming exotic fruits, pineapples and the like.  One particular guy hung on longer than the rest, many left, not only because the US government repossessed their land during the 2nd World War.  He was called George Morikami and donated 40 acres to the county, and then a further 40 acres to be open park to be deveoled as a Japanese Garden, which it now is and attracts thousands of visitors to its tranquill gardens beautifully landscaped with lakes and gardens, art and bonsai displays.  George died in 1986 aged 90.

Gary's dog Brutus a very docile Rottwieller has been unwell since we arrived and although a little better today he is 10 and not destined to make old bones we think, he has some cancer although in remission, but is suffering with nasty looking ulcers on one leg.

Tonight we all decided an easy dinner was the go so bought in pizza and salad, goes down well with a nice red, I think I'm drinking a Yellow Tail Cab' Sav'  The guys and Lona are watching a movie which didn't do much for me so I have one eye on that and the other on my laptop.

All for now,

Regards to all

Dave & Lona.
