Entry 14 of 20 | show all | print this entry

Todays big news, Mark and I bought thongs, yep that's right, everyone wears them here. They take a bit of getting used to, I have not worn thongs for years but it has to be done. They chafe a bit to start with but I'm sure they will feel fine tomorrow. Oh, incase you don't know thongs are what the UK call 'flip flops'.
Also today we hired pedal cycles and rode along the coast track about 17miles in total, the bikes were fine to start with but by the end the basic saddles were less than comfortable. It has been really hot and sunny again today and cycling was great fun.
Mark took a tumble today, but not on the bikes. We went to the shops and as we left Mark was just about to step infront of car because he didn't realise the crossing was not in use, and as I said stop he fell off the kerb and did a Pope imitation and kissed the tarmac. Luckilly he only grazed his knee and it did result in cars in both directions stopping for us, so it was not all bad.
That's about it for today, tomorrow we start heading south towards Sydney in 11 days time.
Till next time.
